Project Scope


The project will proceed under five phases – Planning & Design, Development, Testing, Documentation and Release. The tasks that will be required for each phase follow:

Planning & Design

- Translate glossaries

- Gather requirements for Igbo alphabet font support

- Design project website

- Prepare translation and development environment

- Create/Assemble translation tools and translators

- Write guidelines for developers and non-developers

- Officially register to translate KDE, GNOME, Mozilla, Open Office

- Translate Mozilla Files

- Translate core KDE Desktop Environment files

- Develop Linux keyboard layout and mapping for the Igbo alphabet

- Develop package of fonts and application patches to enable Linux in Igbo support for older distros

- Officially register to translate KDE, GNOME, Mozilla, Open Office
